The urge to sleep until 9:00 am, with the warmth of your blankets and covers is probably not the hardest thing to resist so that you can hit your office just on time. Your toddler’s cute animated walks, pure smiles and yeah, their massive talents in crying and nagging you to just stay at home and play with them will surely top the list. Then you will be split between skipping your work or taking your kid to work. I’m telling you, neither sounds so good.
But good news, folks! You don’t have to be get a leave from work to attend to your kids’ needs and you don’t have to be an absent parent just to be on your job. It’s because with the things below, your toddler will probably not mind if you’ll be away the whole day. Here are smart ways to keep your toddler happy with toys from Step2 Direct while you’re away from home.
If your kid doesn’t want to be left at home without you, then, there’s a reason why. Know that reason by gently talking to them. And assure them afterwards that everything’s just good. That rude playmate can’t get to them or you will surely reach home before dinner time, which isn’t that long.
Tell them that while you’re away, their toys will do your job of playing with them. Of course they had to observe proper organization of those right after. And by the end of the day, ask them how their adventures with those went.
Before leaving, set some educational tasks designated for them. Have a full list for the whole day. Having them draw an apple and coloring that for the morning, having them listen to their nursery rhymes after lunch, and letting them practice to write an ‘A’ or ‘1’ for the afternoon will surely keep them occupied.
Kids get bored easily and that itself can already be a problem to be settled. Buying and setting up quality kids sports toys from Step2 Direct inside your home will do the job. Because, well, what kid would not want to color and draw? Some time with jigsaw puzzles will also do.
By the end of the day, your toddler will be so much delighted to see you with a box of doughnuts or pizza or chicken legs, or a blue teddy bear or that mini-copter they have been telling you about. Tell them that those are all because they behaved the whole day or they have completed the tasks you’ve given them.
But still, this shouldn’t be overdone to avoid them from thinking that things are only done in an exchange for another thing.
Still, there are times that any of these might not work. Partly because they already got tired of the routine, (which will make you realize you need to be artistic and creative in implementing your ways) or partly because they’re literally not feeling well. And with this, the only choice you’ve got is to just stay with them until that normal kid fever goes down.
